We're home!!

We made it home (in the snow again) on Monday night. We are all doing great and our Libby is absolutely amazing! We are so in love with her.

Libby is beautiful and oh so smart. Her English is far better than we could've imagined and she can read, write, and speak in 3 languages: Tigrinya, Amharic, and English. She's a girly-girl too! She loves dresses, wearing lots of jewelry, and shoes! Yes, she insisted that I buy her a pair of pink shoes in Ethiopia. She and Sam are having so much fun together, even though she's as bossy as he is and a slight bit mischevious too. And she's musical. Libby loves to sing and dance - especially her Tigrinya music CDs that were given to her by the orphanage directors where she lived.

I did keep a journal everyday that we were in Ethiopia and I'm debating sharing it here. Ethiopia was overwhelming - the sights, the smells, the emotions we felt, the poverty. It's just really hard to put into words. I'm proud of my daughter's Ethiopian heritage but at the same time this trip made me so thankful to live in America.

Pictures to come...

Congratulations and welcome home!! How fun that she can already read and write in English - Selah knew a little bit of English, but over the last year it's been so much fun to be able to hear stories and memories from Ethiopia....older child adoption is so exciting (and exhausting, I know)!
