When one door closes...

December has brought some changes. We will no longer be adopting from China, but from Vietnam instead. Yes, China has been "Plan A" for over a year now but little did we know that the CCAA would change their parent requirements just as we were ready to officially begin our paperchase. So after considering other programs that CHI offer (we really wanted to stay with our agency, they are the best!) we knew that Vietnam was just a natural choice. I am not disappointed, I feel that this is the path that God has planned for us and it will all work together and just perfectly in his time. After all, we probably would have chosen Vietnam from the beginning - only when we started researching our options last Christmas the Vietnam program had not reopened at that time. So in no way is this a second choice, only a different path to our child and I'm so excited about it!

We too were originally accepted in to CHI's China program and then the CCAA meeting happened, so we too switched to Vietnam instead. With the huge wait that is occurreing and expected to increase, it is a blessing that the meeting occurred when it did, because 2 or three years is way too long to wait for a child!
