Dossier is Done!

Our dossier is finally complete! Yes, it took longer that I anticipated but it's all good. (I'm working on God's schedule, not my own.)The 24 documents in our dossier have been signed, notarized, county certified, and certified by the State of Tennessee and are now sealed in an envelope on my kitchen table waiting to be mailed. It will be mailed this week to our adoption agency and they will forward it to Washington D.C. to be authenticated. It will then be returned to our agency and then sent to Ethiopia - this is the good part. At this point, we will officially be a "waiting family" or "paper pregnant" if you prefer. Basically we'll just be waiting to get the call that we have a daughter!

Well, that's not exactly right. During the wait, we will also be getting re-fingerprinted by CIS, since our fingerprints expire next month. (I mailed our request last week) and we have to have our home study updated because our I-171H expires in December and we'll need another update with a home visit, for that. Plus, we'll be work, work, working to finish saving the money we need to completely pay for the remaining expenses and our travel costs. And I really want to get the nursery done! Whew, I'm tired just thinking about it all. Maybe "waiting family" isn't the right term after all. : )
