and four to eight months to go! I hope. Our dossier was sent to Ethiopia two months ago today, and I'll have to say the time has flown by. With the holidays coming up, I have a feeling the next few months will go fast as well.
So what's been happening these past two months on the adoption front? Well, there have been quite a few referrals - 13 to be exact! So I'm guessing that we're probably in the mid-seventies on the overall waiting list. Just for fun, I'm predicting that we will have a referral in May. That would be the most awesome Mother's Day gift!
I'm also excited to report that we got our re-fingerprinting appointment notice in the mail yesterday. I was getting a little anxious about this, because it has been 6 weeks since we mailed the request to CIS (our second request actually since they didn't get the first one). So, we will be heading to Nashville next Saturday to be fingerprinted once again. And wouldn't you know that they made our appointment on the opening day of deer season! THE day that my Sam has been looking forward to for weeks! He and Charles will still get to go hunting on Sunday, but I'm so sorry that he has to miss Saturday.
You know, I have to say again how great Sam has been through the entire adoption process. We've asked a lot of him - going to the doctor twice for physicals (which he hates), now missing opening day of deer season, travel vaccinations coming up (ouch) and we've cut out a lot of extras (like big family vacations) so we can save money to pay for our adoption expenses. But he's so looking forward to bringing his sister home. We were in Wal-mart the other day, Sam had his own money, as usual, and he was looking for a new camouflage hat when he spotted the cutest little pink hat that said "Daddy's Lil' Deer". He picked it up and with a big smile on his face said we should get that for Alison. I think I just might do that!
